Njombe Regional Head, Hon. Anthony Mtaka, Encourages Citizens to Participate in the 2024 Local Government Elections
Njombe Regional Head, Hon. Anthony Mtaka, has encouraged the citizens of Njombe to turn out in large numbers to participate in the Local Government Elections expected to be held in November 2024.
Speaking at a public meeting held in Makambako Town Council, during the conclusion of the visit of the Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Adolf Mkenda, Hon. Mtaka stressed the importance of citizens' participation in local government elections for strengthening democracy and development in Njombe region
Hon. Mtaka explained that Local Government elections are an important opportunity for citizens to choose leaders with a vision to bring them development and manage public resources well. "Citizens should use their constitutional right to fully participate in this election, to ensure you get the best leaders who will represent you well and speed up the development of your areas," said Hon. mtaka
In addition, he reminded the citizens that Local Governments have a major role in improving social services such as education, health, water, and infrastructure, so it is important to choose leaders capable of bringing about positive change. He emphasized that participating in the elections is one of the ways to ensure that the voices of the people are heard and the decisions that are made take into account the interests of the majority.
Hon. Mtaka also asked the citizens to ensure that they pay attention to peace and stability during the entire election period and to ensure that the elections are held in a transparent and fair manner. He called on young people, women, and all social groups to show up in large numbers, saying that their participation is important in bringing sustainable change to the whole society.
Lastly, Hon. Mtaka promised that the Government will continue to properly manage the election process by ensuring that it is held in peace, stability, and in compliance with all election laws and procedures.
