Discovering Google AI "Whisk" (A.K.A. Visq)
To get started, head over to your search bar and type in "Google AI Visq" (you might see it referred to as "Whisk" in some contexts). Open the first link, and you'll land on their experimental project website. Much like other experimental Google AI tools, it's still under development, but the functionalities are already impressive.
Upon entering the platform, you'll notice several options:
Upload Subject: This is where you upload your character.
Upload Scenes: For maintaining environmental consistency.
Upload Style: To keep the artistic style uniform.
Generate Image: You can either create images from scratch within Whisk or upload your own.
Let's walk through an example. I uploaded an image of a character I often use in my videos. After uploading, the AI quickly analyzes the image. If you then click the "edit" button, you'll see that the AI automatically generates a detailed description (prompt) of your character. You have the flexibility to refine this prompt if you wish, but if you're happy with the AI's interpretation, you can proceed directly. Just be cautious not to alter the core facial features if you want to maintain strong consistency.
Generating Consistent Images: The Magic in Action
Once your character is loaded, you can give it a new prompt. For instance, try something like: "A woman standing in a warfield looking left wearing an army uniform." You can select your desired aspect ratio (e.g., 16:9) and even lock seed numbers for greater control over variations.
Hit "Generate," and you'll be amazed by the output images. While not always 100% identical, the characters generated are remarkably similar—often around 70-80% consistent with your input image. If you need even closer matches, simply click the "refine" button and make minor adjustments.
Overcoming Consistency Challenges
Here's a crucial tip to save you time and frustration: If you try to upload a completely different character after the AI has already started generating, you'll likely get inconsistent results. The solution? Stick with the AI-generated characters or refine them.
For example, if you have a consistent character and want to change their attire, simply use the "refine" button or re-upload the same base image and type in your desired change, like "a man wearing a leather jacket." The AI will then generate your character in the new outfit while maintaining their core features. This allows for endless variations without losing your character's identity.
Maintaining Environment and Style Consistency
The tool's consistency features aren't limited to characters. You can also change environments seamlessly. When refining your prompt, pay close attention to the initial AI-generated description. If it mentions a location like "stands in a dim hallway," simply remove that part and replace it with your desired new location. The AI will then render your consistent character in the new setting.
A Note on Multiple Characters
